Robin Keuneke's comprehensive and scientifically based book, TOTAL BREAST HEALTH, is well organized and full of nutritional information for today's health-conscious women. The recipes included are flavorful and, based on scientific data, may very well help to prevent breast cancer. Robin has taken a difficult scientific topic, made it easy to understand and fascinating to read. I highly recommend this book for both women and men who want to take cahrge of their health.

As a cardiologist voraciously devouring books on natural approaches to healing and health, I was elated to find Robin Keuneke's "Total Breast Health." Her work is truly complete. It approaches breast health and illness from multiple angles: science, emotion, nutrition, and spirituality are all considered. Her openness to the opinions and knowledge of other experts is a breath of fresh air. This text is well-written, comprehensive, and fascinating. It is a must for everyone. "Total Breast Health" goes to the top of my list of "natural" health books. -- Seth J. Baum, M.D., F.A.C.

TotalHealth Magazine food editor Robin Keuneke has produced with compassionate insight a well-researched book of encyclopedic proportions for women and anyone who wants to get well and enjoy good health. A self-described foodie, Ms. Keuneke offers a guide to foods that are rich in breast protective phytochemicals, as well as up-to-date research on how phytochemicals contribute to breast cancer prevention. Most of the pages are devoted to sample menus and recipes featuring an exciting and broad spectrum of vegetables, herbs, as well as protective oils with invaluable tips on the healthiest ways of preparing them. For example, flaxseed oil and olive oil are best used unheated, according to Ms. Keuneke's research. The 125 breast health recipes include ingredients of the highest quality and are based on international flavors and cuisines. To create breast health, life style is an important factor. In chapter 20, "Personal Care Guide", Ms. Keuneke provides important information on natural medicine, exercise, personal body care tips, aromatherapy and information designed to enhance ithe immune system. TOTAL BREAST HEALTH determinedly focuses on prevention and the chapter on the healing benefits of fresh oils is a masterpiece of well-researched information, refuting current thinking on low-fat diets. Replete with interviews, case studies, medical studies, extensive bibliography, resource guide and references, this is likely 1998's most important book on prevention and self-managed health care.
